Safari Day - . Get those fascinating pictures of the kings of the jungle and more as the sun rises, bathing the jungle in a gentle warm glow. Home to leopards, nilgai and more, the safari lasts almost 3 hours before you head back to the lodge for some much-needed breakfast, in time for you to pack up to leave.
Best time to visit December to March
The best time to visit Gir is between the months of December and March. The weather is much cooler here and the sightings are good.
During the later months of April and May, it could get rather warm for a comfortable safari. However, these are the best months to get some really good sightings of the wildlife in Gir at waterholes as well. From mid June to mid October, the park remains closed due to the monsoons.

Air
The nearest airport is in Diu (DIU) which is 70 kilometre from Gir. You will find frequent Air India flight services for Diu from different destinations. Diu is a town in Diu district in the union territory of Daman and Diu, India.
Rajkot airport is another airport near Gir. Rajkot airport is well connected to major Indian destinations as compared to Diu airport. Rajkot is the centre of the Saurashtra region of Gujarat and is the fourth-largest city. Rajkot airport is located 170 kilometre from Gir. You can take cab from the airport to reach Gir.
Rail
Junagadh and Veraval railway station are the railway station nearer to Gir. Junagadh is 70 kilometre from Gir and Veraval is around 60 kilometre. Both of these station have daily train to Sasan Gir from there Gir forest is around 1-2 kilometre. Junagadh is a district in Gujarat and is located in the foothills of Girnar Hills. Veraval is a municipality and the headquarters of Gir Somnath district in Gujarat. It is located 6 kilometre from Somnath. Both of these are well-connected to other major cities in Gujarat and to some other major cities in India.
Road
