Best time to visit October to April

The best time to visit is from October to March. The rain recedes by September and the mountains are a lovely shade of green. The flora comes alive and you can catch a glimpse of the snow clad mountains as the haze disappears.

The chilly winter arrives by late November and stays on till the end of February. It does get pretty cold and it snows at higher elevations. The skies remain clear and you can get a good view of the snow-clad peaks.

Clear skies stay on through March till the haze sets in by mid-April. You need to be lucky to get a view of the peaks during this time. But this is the best time to witness some wildlife action, especially the tiger.

The rains arrive by mid-June and it's officially monsoon time. Everywhere you see, you'll come across the brightest shade of green. Frequent landslides are the only dampener till the monsoons end.
